Mercury from light bulbs?

Can the mercury from a lightbulb do major harm to anyone if some are broken? Does it cause cancer or does it do something to the persons nervous system or anything else? Should i be freaking out that i am going to die or get sick or am i going to be fine? Please help i'm goig crazy over this!
 
You mean a broken CFL bulb? You're not going to die after one brief exposure.
