mercedes benz v. toyota?

So the average Toyota costs around $25,000 right? Why do people buy a toyota? it's reliable, it's inexpensive, it's safe, it's comfortable, it is good on gas. Some other reasons too. What if lets pretend Mercedes Benz drops its prices to Toyota prices but keeps everything else the same. Will more people be buying Mercedes benz instead of Toyota?
 
Wow you are such a smart guy.

If mercedes benz decided to lower the price AT THIS SECOND, then yes people will buy them more. This is because they have been known to have more class than toyota.
 
not sure of your exact question, but i do know the following:

Toyota's are known for being excellent cars ( i have a camry with 150000+ miles and its still going great

Benz is only known for its name.

honestly, i'd prefer the quality of a toyota...
 
Well, initial cost is not just a factor to buy a car. As such theres no comparsion between the two brands.Mercedes Benz are highly over Engineered and complex cars and their depth of enginnering cannot be compared to a Toyota.So to keep a Mercedes road worthy and in its best shape,you would have a higher running cost or maintenance cost which is much higher than a toyota, for example a Merc would have more no. of sensors, and electronic stuff than a toyota, so chances for things to go wrong are higher.

To answer your question, if you are a budget/economy oreinted buyer you would still be away from the Merc even if they dropped the price.
