I have been diagnosed psychotic two years ago. I hear voices and see things when I am off my medication. But for the last year and a half I have been taking medication. In these last six months I have been taking Geodon 120mg a day. This medication has been working for me, if I take it on time every day I have no problems with hearing or seeing things.
Here is my question: But lately in the last month or two. I have been experiencing hallucinations(?) when my eyes are closed. I will either be laying down for bed or perfectly awake and just daydreaming or rather thinking about my day. Either way, tired or not. I am seeing very realistic images. Things in no order are flashing in my 'vision' when my eyes are closed. I have never taken acid, but from what I hear about it, it would look very very similar to what I am seeing. Some of it morbid, some of it nothing really interesting. For instance, it would be either very detailed eyeballs popping/exploding to a random extremely realistic pinata laying on the ground. Most of what I see have nothing connected to anything I have done through out the day.
But then after a few minutes of these 'acid trip' images. My head aches and feels almost 'propelled' into another state of mind. That's when I see myself, not as if I was watching myself, but actually through my own eyes. I am sitting in my room on my bed looking at my room. The entire scene is colored in red and everything is extremely realistic as if I was actually sitting on my bed. Once I reach this state I get achingly scared because I know it's not real but my senses are telling me it is.
I usually back out at this point. Because of how intense it all feels. I have talked about this to my psychiatrist and my the person who prescribes my medication. They have no answers for me at all. Its starting to make me scared to go to sleep. And I was wondering if anyone else out there had any insight to what is going on?
