I wasn't trying to say that your suggestion wasn't the most effective,but not everyone is mechanically inclined and old pipes can present problems.
I was simply trying to help no need to attack me for that.
 
Oh god. I had the exact problem a while back and couldn't get the pipes out to clear them so had to use industrial strength sink unblocker which worked brilliantly.

Slap him silly mate.

One generally finds that people who have been in a lot of fights have caused most of them. In my adult life I've been in two, neither of which lasted very long.

Oh and did you and Les swap a "when" for a "went".
