I "enjoyed" MiiB at the cinema and watched Austin Powers 3, both awful, both were sequels of great films. Austin Powers 3 mainly repeated the jokes from the first two, and even for someone who likes toilet humour, it was so crude that it was pointless, I only laughed once in the film. MiiB had a very boring storyline and it seemed bland and uninspired. Sequels actually tend to generate more money than the original, most likely because of the allure of the brand name. Austin Powers 3 for instance generated $40million, which is the biggest gross yet for an Austin Powers. Yet most will agree that it was the worst.
The problem is that when you go to the cinema to see a film, you pay you see itbefore you see it. You might have been warned that it would be bad, but you still go to see for yourself, because you don't get what they mean before yous ee it with your own eyes. It's a sad reflection of Hollywood that relies on sequels with no substance whatsoever to generate money, rather than original ideas, Truman Show people?
I mean come on we need original ideas to have sequels in the first place.
