Memory parity error, samsung netbook, please help?

my Samsung netbook is running Windows 7 Ultimate and has 1GB RAM.
Regularly im getting a blue screen and it says on it

*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
***The system has halted***


what does that mean? i was told it was the ram so ive ordered a stick of 2GB RAM. its a Samsung N110.
