Definitely Jerry Maguire. I agree with what ROCKSTAR posted. Tom Cruise did an awesome job!

I'm sorry - I'd post but there are just too many to name. Give me a genre or time period and it'll be much easier.

What I'm really doing here is letting Ambular know that her avatar is FABULOUS! :D

I agree so much. I also love her sidekicks Drake and Hudson. :D Ripley is awesome, too, but imo Vasquez was THE female badass in Aliens.

As for others, Patrick Bateman portrayed by Christian Bale, I believe that to this day this is his most iconic role; and of course Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver

I agree with the post about Doc Holliday. Val Kilmer in my opinion, was robbed by the Academy with that performance. He bought so much to the role of Doc, and the one liners he had made his performance so memorable and so breathtaking. His friendship with Wyatt Earp is one of the best on screen duos of all time. :sigh:

Another memorable character is William Wallace in Braveheart. I have seen this film so many times, mainly because I am 50% Scottish because my mom and mostly all of her family are all from Scotland. It just chills me when he screams, "FREEDOM", instead of "Mercy". And the fact of the matter is Wallace did have a Braveheart. He fought for what he believed in - Scotland fighting its independence over England. :)

-Tyler Durden.
-Edward Norton in that movie with Richard Gere, I don't remember the title
-Edward Scissohands
-Edward Bloom

(too many edwards :O lol)

I read somewhere that for a month he like locked himself away in a hotel room trying out different laughs and voices for the character to get it down, like he drove himself mad trying to find the perfect 'Joker'.

It paid off, it is the best Batman character I have ever seen.

All of the horror villians like Freddy, Jason, Michael, Pinhead, Hannibal, etc.

Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump)
Edward (Edward Scissorhands)
Austin Powers (Austin Powers)
Dr. Evil ( Austin Powers)
Jack Dawson (Titanic)
Jerry Maguire (Jerry Maguire)
Dorothy Gale (Wizard of Oz)
Jim Stark aka James Dean ( Rebel without a cause)

My list can go on and on, lol so I will stop it here.

Anakin Skywalker - The Star Wars Saga. Learning about the man behind the mask, so to speak, definitely took the Darth Vader character to another level.

Leonidas - 300. Definitely my favorite character from the newer wave of action movies.

William Miller - Almost Famous. Excellent character, portrayed so well, and delivers some great lines.

Lloyd Dobler - Say Anything. I fell in love with this character the first time I ever saw Say Anything. "I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen."

Rick Blaine - Casablanca. I don't really think I need to explain that one.

Ones I will never forget:

Johnny Depp as Edward in Edward Scissorhands
Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins) in Silence of the Lambs
Freddy Kruegar (Robert Englund) in Nightmare on Elm Street
Scarlett O' Hara (Vivian Leigh) in Gone With The Wind
Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) in Gone With The Wind
Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) in Fight Club

Jason Bourne in the Bourne Trilogy-Matt Damon did a really good job as Jason Bourne in all three of these movies. I don't think anyone could have done a better job.

The Joker-The Dark Knight: Heath Ledger did an amazing job!! he was such an outstanding actor

Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone. I like the movie okay, but I bought the dvd and watched it multiple times because of Val Kilmer's performance. He looks like death barely warmed over in that movie. It's probably my favorite performance ever. There would be other contenders, but thats the one I always go back to.

probably one of the most memorable characters i've seen in a film is...

"malli" the female suicide bomber in 'the terrorist'....the movie is from 1999....after watching this film i could understand why someone would strap a bomb onto themselves and give up their life for a cause.....a film that's very powerful and unbeliveably hard to find......i was lucky enough to have seen it in a theater when it first came out...
