Memento - amazing but confusing

Anyone seen this? I thought it was superb, very intriguing. Gave me a headache though. :D

Anyone have thoughts/theories?

Is the twist that Lenny did it, - he accidentally killed his wife with insulin so he made up "John G" to remember something else? I got the impression the Sammy Jankis character wasnt real, Lenny transposed what happened to him to "Sammy". :confused: Teddy says Lenny is not "who he really is"

I havent seen the chronological edit yet.
 
I still need to see this, i heard its great and i need to get the dvd - also bollywood are making this movie so thats one of the reasons i want to see this
 
The following is a big spoiler:

The idea is that his wife WAS attacked but didn't die. He didn't remember this, and so went on believing that his wife had been murdered, so he constantly looks for the killer.

The attacker was caught and killed long before the film's story chronologically takes place. Joe Pantoliano's character was a cop who helped Guy Pearce's character find and kill the attacker, but because Guy Pearce's character cannot make new memories he just doesn't know any of this. In the beginning (end) he thinks the cop did it, so he kills him. The explanation is at the end (beginning).

Sammy Jankis' story was actually Guy Pearce's character's story, which is why for a split second you see Sammy Jankis turn into Guy Pearce in the hospital ward.

So you see they all died and it was horrible. ;)
 
Christopher Nolan is one talented guy (also his brother Jonathan who co-wrote this along with The Prestige and, of course, The Dark Knight). He excels in making movies you want to see again and again. IMO you only get half of Memento if you just see it once.

Please don't see it though if you don't like to think during a movie.

I love this film. It's one of my favourites. Every time I watch it I pick up some little detail that I previously missed.

Chris Nolan is a legend in the making, IMO. He hasn't made one bad film yet.

I have still to watch The Prestige, also directed by Nolan. I hear thats very good. Also the US remake of Insomnia (Nolan again) was great also.
