"MegaMind" Talkback (Spoilers)

Went to see this a few days ago.

Bottom line, in terms of Dreamworks movies, this is one of the better ones. Not as good as, say, HTTYD or Kung Fu Panda, but certainly more enjoyable then the last two Shrek movies.

I can't really think of that much to say to it, though Space-Dad was pretty funny.

I also wasn't expecting much, but this movie blew me away. It's easily the most times I laughed at a movie this year, and it was easily better than Despicable Me. I saw it in 2-D, but I didn't feel like I was missing a thing. The story was well-done and I wasn't as disappointed with the "plot twist" as I expected. Great movie, and I hope the rumors of a TV series are true. DreamWorks have been 3-for-3 this year!

Random side note: My theater played the trailer for the Justin Bieber biopic before the movie, and the entire group I was with were voicing their displeasure through ugh's. I'm sorry, but it was amusing.

I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to be a "meh" movie, but I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. The only thing wrong with it is was some jokes during parts that I thought should have been kept serious. But that's just me.

I actually liked the movie.....I didn't see the nerd camera man getting such a big role coming, but I guess it wasn't too big a shock.

I was thinking the same thing though.....it would make a fun series.

In other news, why do we need a Justin Beiber movie, and WHY does it need to be in 3D? Saw a trailer for that too

I loved it! I was a lot more impressed with this one than I was with Despicable Me. Which was really cute, but a bit too cliche.

Yes, Mega Mind was cliche too, but with a twist. I love when I am pleasantly surprised by how good a movie is. 5/5

Just saw it in 3D, & I gotta say that I was very impressed with it.

It's now one of my favorite Dreamworks movies of the year, along with Despicable Me. :anime:

Despicable Me isn't DreamWorks, it's Universal Pictures. Plus, have you seen How to Train Your Dragon? I thought that was better than MegaMind by far.

One other thing I wanted to mention was even though this movie had the dreaded dance party ending, I wasn't bothered by it. It felt organic to MegaMind's character to have a dance party.

Also, I decided to make the most awesome part of the movie my signature.

I don't think MegaMind is a cliched villain to boot. For him he was only a villain out of circumstance and was simply using his villain-ness to express himself (a la an outlet).

Even though the last trailer revealed way too much of the film, I still managed to find this movie really enjoyable and it wasn't as predictable as I thought. The things I enjoyed the most of the films were the characterization and development Roxanne and Megamind went through, as well as the action scenes and Titan flying with Roxanne for the first time.
So yeah, another great movie from Dreamworks this year (I haven't seen Shrek 4).
