"Two beasts of the ocean are found frozen at the bottom of the ocean. Accidentally they are defrosted and the two go on a rampage off the californian coast"

Anyone seen this cinematic classic? Is it worth staying up for?

Yeah well, what do IMDB know about films? Most of the people who go on there are film snobs who would prefer to watch foreign films they don't understand than a good bit of entertainment.

Agree with you there. It was only intended as a bit of fun but gets trashed as a rubbish B movie. I'd watch it if it wasn't for 24! :D

Movie is terrible, watched it last year. So Dire, I had it on start to finish but stopped paying attention 10/15 in. Don't watch it unless you get kidnapped and forced to watch it in exchange for your freedom :)

In the 60s or 70s, a title like that would have been worth staying up for, but not now. A bad monster movie with unconvincing but 'organic' special effects - such as a Japanese Godzilla film or Empire Of The Ants - still strikes a cord somewhere in the subconscious as you know the shoddy effects are nevertheless 'real' at some level, and thus they do realise the 'thing' or situation they are portraying on-screen, however laughably. In the digital age, such cut-price efforts are realised to just look like computer games, and watching people play computer games is extremely soporific.

I agree. I have no interest in watching the new Clash of the Titans movie for that very reason. The Ray Harryhausen special effects in the original were far more impressive than any CGI effects ever.

I spotted this was on the other night and decided to watch the remaining 45 minutes for a bit a fun. I switched off after 15 minutes. It was long way from being good and equally a long way from being so bad it's good (which, to be honest, is where I was hoping it would be).

I watched this when it was on cable last week. The odd thing is it was strangely enjoyable mainly because it was so bad. I want to see "Shark In Venice" just because it looks so mindnumbingly dumb but a part of me thinks "there has to be something to it!" I doubt it very much but you never know.

I won't say I didn't enjoy MSvGO because part of me enjoys watching films that are trying to be serious but fail at almost every turn but mainly because they are trying to be clever. I honestly believe the people involved thought this was a masterpiece and that just makes me want to laugh even more.

I began watching it the other night expecting a real schlockfest but Jeezus wept, it was more boring than watching paint dry.

Films this bad shouldn't be this dull surely?

Nope.

Try 'The Humanoid' starring Richard 'Jaws' Kiel.
It's like having your teeth and toe nails pulled out without anaesthetic while being poked in the eyes with red hot needles...

:D
