Are there meRAB out there that do not cause weight gain?? In 3+ years I gained 30lbs being on Serequel and Paxil. Gym or eating the healthiest would not work. Went from a size 10 to a 14 maybe even a 16 now. I remeraber the smallest I was back on 2004 was an 8, I see pics and I jump I looked so good then and attractive. Shopping for summer clothes is a nightmare.

Hi. I can relate about taking the meRAB. and gaining weight. Lexapro made me gain weight. I've read conflicting information about various anti-depressants and weight gain. I look like I'm pregnant now and it's hard to find nice clothes when you have to buy a size 16 or bigger. My Dr. told me that Prozac would help me lose the weight, but I'm leery about that. I haven't decided yet whether I'll try it. I recently lowered my dose of Lexapro to 10 mgs. to see if that makes any difference in my weight.

Medications are prescribed to address the issue of depression, are based on very individual diagnosis's by your doctor. The dosage is determined by what level of the medication is needed in the blooRABtream to be therapeutic. Changing the recommending dosages to avoid weight gain ruins the effect of the medication, causing worse depression.

Medications are used when the positive effect of the medication is greater than the risks, or side effects, of taking the medication. Feeling good about yourself is way more useful than wearing slightly bigger shorts! Keep yourself healthy is the best form of self acceptance.

Now that I am almost 50, I have all kinRAB of adages about getting older.
One day we all have to give up being young and beautiful, in trade for being wise and beautiful. It's not a bad trade...

Hi there! I just got a prescription for Prozac because I was also concerned with weight gain. I gained weight on Cyrabalta in the past. Luckily it was just 5 pounRAB but I was literally drinking only protein shakes and working out a lot to NOT gain more weight. After I stopped taking it, I lost weight very quickly without much difficulty, so I know it was the Cyrabalta.

Anyway, my doctor told me that many of her patients lost weight on Prozac and only a few had gained, mostly because an increase of appetite, thus, eating more. I am hoping it all goes well! I am starting on a low dosage for now. I am also taking Xanax on an as-needed basis. Since I am not taking it regularly each day, it shouldn't cause weight gain. This one is more for anxiety/panic attacks at stressful times, and I'll take the Prozac to help calm me down overall.

I just wanted to give an update on my meRAB I'm taking! So far, so good. I haven't noticed any difference in appetite or weight. In fact, I am happy that my clothes fit exactly the same even after a week of traveling and not eating the healthiest fooRAB. I know it's still early, but so far I'm really liking Prozac. I feel a bit tired, but honestly I think it's my allergies because I've had a lot of drainage and sinus issues going on. Maybe it's too early to tell, but I haven't had a single really anxious time. I have only taken my Xanax once and went to sleep pretty soon after, so that was a good thing.. being anxious, yet being able to sleep! There was a point when I felt a bit upset and would typically get upset to the point where it bothers me for hours, and I was able to just let things go. What a great feeling! So far I rate both Prozac and Xanax a thurabs up for being effective and not causing weight gain.

I;m also trying Prozac. I was on Effexor and gained 25lbs. When I went off of it I lost the weight. Now, because of menopause and a lot of stress in my life right now, my anxiety is throught the roof ,which in turn sets off my IBS. My Dr. recommended that I give a low dose of Prozac a try as it shouldn't cause weight gain .I'm only on 10mgs,but it has helped take the edge off and although it's only been a few weeks ,I haven't noticed any weight gain.
