surgery for a mild sports hernia...? my friend went to the emergency room for what he thought was a pulled groin muscle... the doctor who looked at him basically said it was a mild sport hernia that may require surgery so all he did was basically refer him to a specialist he is going to call tomorrow and set up an appointment but in the event that the outcome needs to be surgically fixed what would he do in that situation because he is uninsured? Can he buy medical insurance? What is Blue Cross & Blue shield & how does it work? What can a person with no medical insurance do in this situation? Any idea how much this type of procedure would cost????
The pain he felt was in the groin area... there is no lump or visible sign of a large hernia which threw us off when the ER doc said he had a mild sports hernia... will this specialist he go to be able to answer questions reguarding costs?
