media usage rights acquisition?

i've got the latest version (11) of windows media player for vista
and i downloaded the k-vid pack for the media acquistion.... yet my videos still don't work
every time i try to download the latest media player update it doesn't work
what can i do so that i can watch my videos and get this licence?
