Im looking to buy a new used car. Im interestd in three so far a chevy cavalier 99 a mazda mpv van 2001 and a buick century 2003. In my experience chevys are good. I have heard great things about the buick. I think i like mazda but dont know much about mazda and those mpv vans seem to be awfully cheap. I want something thats gonna last and is dependable and if something goes wrong it will be a simple not too pricey fix. I have kids and low income. I know how to change oil and check fluids I can maintain my vehicle but i just want to know what type of vehicle is best for what im looking for. Any suggestions? As far as my likes i love hatchbacks and seats that fold if i wanna crash in the backseat on a trip. I love jeeps and blazers to. and a van sounds okay at least practical. but i also like a little style like the mazda 3. thanks everyone for any insight

Also when you answer tell me which of these cars are not good Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan, Saturn, Mitsubushi, Kia, Mazda VW and Jeep

You have picked three vehicles that are at or near the end of their life's cycle. Of the three, I would choose the Buick by virtue that I have worked on all of them. Vehicles that I would say to avoid, Saturn,Kia,VW, and Jeep only because they are not mechanic friendly for parts or repair facilities should you choose to travel. You did not mention Honda, is their a reason or just an over sight. The Honda is one of the easiest to repair and parts are easy to obtain. Honda makes an Odyssey van that you might consider. It all really comes down to maintenance and the cost of performing that maintenance which then provides reliability. Just my thoughts on your question.
