Mechanics Only Please?

I have a 96 olds bravada 180000 miles, 4.2 engine. The other day my car cut off at the stop light and was completly dead. I got a boost, started driving and the transmission wouldn't switch gear at first but It finally did! Then at 30 MPH it completely cut off again so i restarted it and it had this horrible clicking/clacking almost scrapping noise and still was hard to start up, What could it be? The oil gauge always light up, but i now there's oil cause i had it change last week. oh yeah, it didn't start happening until the day after oil change.
 
Might check the oil level, sometimes the places dont put the oil drain plug back in all the way, they forget to tighten it and it works its way loose and finally off.
