On a 250m straight stretch road, the driver of a BMW that is initially moving with a constant velocity of 50.0km/h sees ahead a kia that has a velocity of 60.0 km/h and is accelerating at 2.00m/s. the cars are initially separated by 100m and the BMW must catch up with the kia before it reaches the end of the stretch of the road. If ab is the minimum acceleration required by the BMW to catch up with the kia and t is the time it takes for the BMW to catch up with the kia .......... find t and ab, if the BMW is capable of a maximum acceleration of 5.00m/s calculate the distance separating the two cars at the time t

hahahaha...the Kia is no match for the Beemer! BMW will overtake in no time. No math needed.

first, acceleration is in units of m/s^2
then you should convert km/h to m/s

use the formula D = 1/2 a t^2 + Vo t + Do for each car.

You can calculate the time it takes car2 to reach 250m and the necessary acceleration for car1 to get there at the same time. Or you can use the maximum acceleration to figure out how far each car went.
