Meat shrinks when you cook it, does less shrink away with frozen meat or fresh meat or is it generally the same?
I'm trying to spend the least amount of money on my food and I eat a lot of meat. I'm new to cooking but I've found even though you pay "$6.40 for 3 lbs, $2.13 per lb" when you cook it you DO NOT actually get 3 lbs of digestible meat.
The amount of eatable meat after cooking shrinks with both meat that's bought in big frozen bags and the meat that is bought in those saran wrap/styrofoam containers (fresh meat). So which do yo actually get the biggest bang for your buck for?
