Measuring rear Ride height...Made Easy!

I had an idea for a tool for gettin a good measurement of rear rideheight on my 848. I already had the MotoWheels rideheight measuring tool, and wanted an accurate way of using it.

I contacted Steffen at RhinoMoto and explained my idea. He cut down one of his axle sliders for me and sent it out. I purchased a cheap metric ruler (still want a nice aluminum one) and drilled a hole at 0mm. The ruler was bolted to the modified axle slider, and then snugged into the axle.

The result is perfect. Rideheight is easily measured, and consistent. No more guessing where the middle of the axle is.

RhinoMoto will make these for you, just give them a call or email them. I'm sure Steffen will put a nicer ruler on it.

I'm not affiliated with RhinoMoto at all. Steffen is just a great guy, open to new ideas, and helped me out. Hopefully he and Rhinomoto will get a good return in the form of orders from the Ducati community.

Love it. Love the enginuity.

I never get hung up on the whole centre of the axle thing though. I just turn my wheel so as to get a 'flat' of the axle nut paralell to the ride height tool and measure from that.
 
Thanks all, it works very well and leaves your hands free to adjust without having to re-measure. Just turn the rideheight rod till you get the desired rideheight and you're done.

And no, the tire was from a trackday this weekend, not the street.

the funny thing is...many times i guess all of us just think too complicated in our jobs, hobbies etc but when you really go back to the simple basics things turn out like this GREAT idea...many thanks for sharing..
