Meanspirited pretentious idiot characters...

You know, characters with bad snooty attitudes who treat everyone else like crap, but you can always tell that deep down they're some of the biggest idiots around (in secret). In other words, characters who act like they think they're better and smarter than everyone else, yet offer no proof to support their claim

Duke Devlin (Yu-Gi-Oh)
Vegeta (DBZ)
Mandy (Billy and Mandy)
The goth girl from Danny Phantom
Gendo
Sissie (code lyoko)
Mandy (totally spies)
Diana Lumbard (Martin Mystery)
Neji Hyuga

Most of the time I just love to hate these characters.

As for me, i'd have to say Giovanni (pokemon).
I mean, we all know he's supossed to bed suped bad, he's the leader of Team Rocket. But we haven't seen much of him at all (except for maybe once in season 2)
So, he kind of deserves to be here, until he proves to us that he can be the kind of bad guys that our heors can fear.
 
Vegeta wasn't pretentious. He was the second person to ever achieve Super Saiyan. Mandy from Billy and Mandy has been proved to be a force of nature, put simply.

Yeah, the characters of Pokemon are so good at being cute and welcoming, and so bad at being menacing. Team Rocket is about as scary as my nephew, and he's an adorable kid. I want to see "Da Boss" in action dammit!

What about Ash's new rival from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl? What's his name again? (I'm terrible with new names, if you're wondering...) He's a potential candidate. He's full of tons of trash talk, but he doesn't strike me as all that good. I mean, sure he beat ash one time or so, but that was probably only because he threw Ash off his game with all his trash talking, so it was kind of a cheap shot.

And what about Sakura from Naruto. She constantly has an outgoing crush on Sasuke and constitently dumps on Naruto, but in the first series, she doesn't even give us any memorable battles of her own. Instead she just comments on everyone else's and never establishes her own potential power. How annoying!
 
Hmm. I always considered Vicky to be more of the archetypal feminist villain, kind of like how Crocker is the archetypal dork villain...Crocker on the other hand is more psycho and insecure than pretentious.

And yes, I can sort of understand why you picked Trixie Tang also, but Tootie is just kind of scary, cuz she's so obsessive...
 
Lizzie Devine: In one episode she criticised Numbuh 1's eating habits, saying he was getting fat. The girl is obese, but she doesn't see anything wrong with her own body.

The Squirrel Scouts and their counselors: That's the impression I've gotten from the few episodes I've seen. I may be wrong about that mongoose girl, though.

Pete: He looks down on Goofy for being dumb, but he's not exactly a genius himself.

Bloo: No explanation needed.

Peggy Hill: No explanation needed.
 
They are any1 willin' to harm the main characters who aint mean or bad at all.

Namely Slade from Teen Titans.See... :robin: Robin looks rightfully PO'd now.
 
Well, if we're talking pretentious villains, I pick Orochimaru. He killed the fourth Hokage. Nuff said. Far as the Naruto world is concerned, him and Itachi Uchiha. Those right there are a couple of bad dudes. Seriously. But yeah, Slade's up there.

I can see Giovonni being a super badass character, but Pokemon just doesn't want to devolp him as a character.

You're trying to think of Paul. Now, he is a badass character, but at least him has the skils to back it up.

And, I do agree with you on the Sakura comment. She just has had no character development at all. What a shame.
 
I will say this once.

Please--- if you start a list thread--- you need to explain why you picked each character you list off. If you don't-- odds are the thread will be closed.

There needs to be discussion involved, not listing off random characters without reason.

How the heck is Slade a candidate for this anyway? The guy usually does succeed or comes close to succeeding in his plans, so his arrogance is pretty understandable.



Are you kidding?! Sakura has the most development out of all the kuoconchi. You're just the all too common case of someone confusing "battles" with "character development".
 
well... She's very smart, probably the smartest character on the show except of Shikimaru. But she just doesn't perform when it comes time for the actual mission. Naruto and Sasuke do most of the work.
However, she did seem more useful in the Movie that aired this last weekend.

But, she has no attacks, and she hardly uses any Ninjustu. If she could learn some useful attacks (like the one in the movie) then I would take her off of this thread.
