Meal help for camping?

I am going camping next weekend, and I need so help. I was wondering if I could prepare some of my own meals at home, and then store them in container to bring camping with me, Can I do that? What containers should I put them in? Oh and I was wondering if I could put them in metal container, such as a clean soup camp?

I won't be able to bring an ice chest..
 
Make Shish Kabobs at home- Put chicken beef or shrimp whatever meat you prefer with some peppers, cherry tomatoes, and onions on a wooden skewer pour bbq sauce or a marinade over them wrap them all together in a piece of aluminum foil and put them in a gallon ziplock bag. Throw it in your freezer, it`ll last a full summers day and still be frozen. Cut the points off the skewers, after you put the food on them, so you dont pop the bag. Gallon ziplocks can hold anything. The glad ware containers are light weight and have a great seal as well.

You can also buy Nalgene bottles or containers made to store food stuff in. My spare nalgene is handy for food items.
