Me and my friend want to make a flash game what software should we use?

he has a discount for that kind of software for education purposes and this is obviously our first try

and arn't there different kinds of adobe flash?
 
Uh, you'd use Flash.

There are different editions of Adobe flash: CS2, CS3, CS4.

Before all this, Adobe Flash was Macromedia Flash 8.

I'd recommend finding a copy of Macromedia Flash 8. It's exactly the same program, except it's a different name. It's not the latest version, but action scripting is alot easier.

And, trust me, you want the action scripting to be as easy as possible. =D
