My friend and I are debating about slaves. Let me give you an example of what I asked him and his response. I said if I WILLINGLY signed a contract to be a housekeeper for 6 years, and all I received during the course of those 6 years was to live their, and was provided food, and clothes that is fair right? Keep in mind I WILLING signed the contract to work for 6 years for the shelter, food, and clothes. I was not forced to sign the contract, it was on my own free will. Now my friend says that I am still considered a slave even though I agreed and signed the contract. He tries to justify it by saying the basic needs to sustain life is not considered payment, so I would still be considered a slave in his eyes. So I would like to hear your opinions please shed some light on the topic, and keep in mind I agreed to the contract and signed it. What I I got from signing my contract (even if it doesn't make sense) should be irrelevant correct, if I signed it WILLINGLY? So tell me who do you think is right? And why?
