...restaurants? I have worked in Mcdonald's restaurants for six years now, in that time i have worked in various company restaurants all over the uk. the first store i worked in was a company restuarant in my home town, when i went to college i moved to a different company rrestaurantand worked in the one in my home town on my term breaks. I continued to work in the company rrestaurantnear college but stopped working in the one in my home town because i was spending more time at the city where my college was. After some time the McDonald's restaurant in my home town became a francise restaurant. I recently discovered im pregnant and moved home to be near my family, i have had an interview with the business manager of the francise restaurant in my home town and am awaiting news of whether my transfer will be granted. He has phoned my other boss in the other mcdonalds where i worked for a reference, the other boss said it sounded like "he was looking for a reason not o give me a job!" however my boss give me a glowing reference and said he should have no reason not to give me it.

Anyways all this has taken about three weeks to sort out and although i received some holiday pay from my store near to college im worried it will effect my continuous employment.

i am wondering what my rights are in terms of statuary maternity pay ? does moving from a compnay to a francise restaurant matter? and what can i do if he decides not to hire me as i fear he may have heard im pregnant because i live in a very small and gossiping town...

please help, im currently ten weeks pregnant
