At the recent anniversary of Madeleines disapearance church service, Kate McCann urged the congregation to “pray like mad” for her daughter’s safe return. Yet many people throughout the world, including the parents and their familys, and even the Pope have been doing exactly that for the past year. Millions of prayers = Madeleine remains unfound.

Is this clear evidence that prayers do not work ? or do prayers just not work in this particular case ? and why ?

Prayers only work when accompanied with good luck and in some cases hard work.

Maybe God exists, and maybe prayers work, but I'm pretty sure they don't work the same way a car does, for example. You know, you head over to the car and turn it on whenever you need it, then leave it alone when you've finished using it. Faith and prayer definitely do not work that way. They're a full time commitment, and any Christian will tell you God knows if you have faith or are just praying 'just in case'. I doubt there was much prayer going on in the Mccann household before their daughter disappeared.
