McCain just sealed my vote

Why don't you fucking understand that technologies do not remain static?

In 1942, computers weren't considered feasible for widespread use. Now this thing sits on my lap.

Let's also conveniently forget about

WASHINGTON -- Sen. John McCain's call today to lift a 27-year federal moratorium on new oil and gas drilling along the nation's coastline angered many in the environmental community and put him at odds with several key Republican governors.

Is he drilling for nuclear reactors?

For building the facility.

God damn you must be the dumbest fucking economics major in the world who can't understand fixed and variable costs.

Over the long run a factory production method with a high fixed cost and a lower variable cost is superior to the opposite.

I don't see the world not using electricity any time in the future.

Doesn't change the fact that he was asked a specific question about his commitments to nuclear energy and he gave an answer that was 100% non-committal.

The guy's fucking retarded. You cant pin him down on anything though. He'll abandon any untenable position, refuse to support it with any kind of facts, mutate his argument, and then make shit up.

Throw it into a mountain that isn't a water source and wait until we have enough to warrant re-processing the waste with the new nuclear plants they developed that turn waste into energy and result in near inert waste.

this is wrong, like almost anything else you've ever claimed.

I'm thick

You think solar energy will ever reach the efficiency, reliability, and yield of nuclear energy

Maybe if the put itsy bitsy nuclear reactors in the solar cells

He hasn't even provided any proof that distributed generation isn't considered feasible/sufficient AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

Please stop dignifying his random manufactured bullshit claims by acting like they're valid.

Well none have been named by the DOE as a place to store low-level radioactive waste. The fact is there's no place to put it safely right now for either citizen's health here or for our national security.

So a commitment to bring our energy infrastructure into modern times is to be ignored, while "hope and change" remain legitimate political platforms.

Gotcha.

That's over 5-6 years and takes into account the building cost. The operational lifespan of a nuclear plant is like half a fucking century.

Jesus christ you're the dumbest fucking economics major I've ever met.
