So you support giant government programs that provide useless work? Tanks, plans, and soldierry do not provide any economic benefit. If we spend a million bucks making a tank, yes, that 500,000 in labor gets rolled over into the economy (broken window fallacy) but the 500,000 in material is still a tank, bomb, aircraft carrier, whatever, and useless for generating economic output. It's actually BETTER for the economy to just give the money to poor people because they go spend ALL of it on goods and services (provided by middle class americans, upper class americans, poor americans, etc), putting it all back into the economy.
Neither one is a net good for the economy though, since it would be more efficient to just let the capital allocate itself rather than have the government do it.
