Hi, I am in my 3rd year of University and after driving my parent's car for just over 2 years, they (my parents) are finally ready to get me my first car. After looking through some low priced entry cars, I have come down to 2 cars. The 2010 Mazda3 Sport and the 2010 VW City Golf.
I have test drove both cars and if I had to pick just by the way the cars drove, I would go with the Mazda3 as the one I was looking into had well over 50HP more than the VW with a 2.0L engine compared to 1.5 VW. However, with VW I am able to get heated seats (which I really like!.. at least right now) as well as sunroof (which I also really like). Even though the sunroof option is available with the Mazda, the car already costs nearly 3,000 more than the VW and my dad is very reluctant to add sunroof to it for another 1,000+.
As far as the looks go, I am convinced that both exterior and interior for the VW is better than that of the Mazdas. Mazda just seems really "trendy" and I feel like I will get bored of the style few years down the road. Of course when it comes to the looks.. it is nothing more than an opinion but that's the way I feel.
I drive both on highway (to school) and in city (to work) just as much as each other.
So there you have it! What would YOU go with and why? (Of course considering that you were me haha)
And is there something that I may not know about for both of these cars?
