Mazda vs.Others. Question?

Ok first off I am a die hard Mazda fan period. Just to clear things up I am an American white man. Now my question is simple, how come Mazda doesn't come out with a car (mainly the rx8) that can compete with the nissan gtr or the toyota supra ??? Mazda has the money and the know how. Just look at the 1991 Le-mans. And how the very next year they kicked Mazda out because (for lack of better terms) their engines were too "small". To me I think alot of people and companies got really scared. However, we all know that Mazda could make a super car like the nissan gtr that is still a daily driver and still compete with all the big boys in Japan and most of America. So why don't they ???... Please don't respond with some uneducated answer cause you drive a nissan or supra, because for a little $$$ you could get a Rx7 to run by you.
Let me clarify that I know the 91' car was a race car but it could be scaled down to a production car the 787B was well over 650hp with a 4 rotor engine. Mazda could drop a bigger 2 rotor twin turbo engine in a RX8 an make at least 400hp minimum. With that power and that weight the gtr couldn't touch it. My question is why don't they just do it???

ok first the 91 Le-mans was 18 years ago so that doesn't mean they have the money now, also the Le-mans was strictly a race car, not made for street car production so you can't count that
