mazda rx7 for first car?

well ive been looking at mazda rx7s to buy and really want one for a first car but there are a few problems its rear wheel drive and thats bad cuz i live in omaha my family thinks it would be to fast and the insurance is to high it would be 6,000 a year for me but i want to know if you think it would be a good first car and maybe you have some experience with these cars and anything you have to say and maybe some other suggestions that are as good as the rx7 that have low insurance are fast and are front wheel drive or all wheel drive and something i can put mods on

No kids and sports cars are a bad combination. My neighbor bought his son a Mustang GT for his first car he didn't even last a year before he killed himself in it and now he and his wife are getting a divorce its a sad thing to witness.
