i have an Mazda RX7 '88 and my engine won't start please help, its not starting up and idling. it makes the noise to start but it sounds like its struggling, its not the battery, radiator. and its sounds the gas is going through the engine but it doesn't want to start compeletly.if you have pictures that would help tremendously thanks
thank you 81mustang for the advice and also i was going to say the same thing rotary don't have vavles

Well since bobo said valve timing I assume he has no clue what a rotary is or that it doesn't even have valves!!! Anyways it is either flood or the apex seals are shot in it. Do you live in a cold climate? these engines eat apex seals quick in freezing weather, then they have no compression and won't start. Best thing is to take out all four spark plugs and burn the gas off them with a small torch or let them sit and dry whatever and clean them nice or replace with new ones if you prefer. Then put them back in place and get a buddy to spray starting fluid down the intake as you try to start it. Don't touch the gas! This won't hurt the engine either since it is what the dealer does to get them going when they flood.

It could be any one of 30-60 things gone wrong. Fuel, ignition, valves, timing, computer, or even operator error. Take it somewhere to be fixed or get someone that knows what they are doing to help you.
