MAZDA RX-8 CLUTCH!!!!?

everytime i am in 3 or 4 gear and out my foot down the revs go up to nearly 8000 revs and then drops back down but the car does not gain speed i think i may need a new clutch but was wondering roughly how much a new clutch will cost so i can get the money saved. its not under warranty its a 2003 reg. Also the oil light keeps coming on but there is plenty oil i think this may be a faulty sensor. PLEASE HELP!
 
about 500 to 600 for the clutch installed. the sensor id fix first hate to do a clutch and then see the motor is on its last legs oil switch is like 20 to 35
 
Before you spend any money on a clutch, find out why the oil light is on, because if it isn't a sensor your oil pressure is low and that could be more expensive than the clutch to fix---your clutch is slipping and the reason for that could be that there is oil on the clutch plate which is coming from the rear engine crankshaft seal
 
you need a new clutch, call dealer for first estimate then call local mechanics shops and compare prices,get 5 estimates that should give you a roud about figure.yes this could be faulty sensor try to get a diagnostic check on the car.
 
you are looking around £300 not including fitting,
sounds like the clutch is slipping which yes it means you need a new one
