mazda protege 2000 check engine says egr valve.?

I went to auto zone and they said my EGR valve needed
to be replaced so I did it and my check engine light still
keeps coming back on.
Changed PCV valve and spark plugs and even the gas
and the regular oil filter and still not changing.

Any suggestions on what else could be done?
My car just keep chocking and at times wanting to stall.
Now my rpm were below one and are finally up a little
but still chocking at times to get to 2 rpms.
Also, put in fuel injection in the gas tank and still having issues.

Any HELPFUL suggestions would be well appreciated
 
your EGR valve only has to do with emissions - it wouldnt effect the way the car runs.

If you are choking and losing power I would check into the catalytic converter and see if there is anything wrong with it.
