...the guage sensor? Hi Folks
I have a Mazda MPV 98 J Vin # M3LV523XT0808323 . This has been a maintenance nightmare for me , ever since it broke down in NM. Not because its a bag design, but because I was stiffed by the mechanics there .
Now after spending $1000 behind its rescue the mech tell me that your fuel gauge is down because there is a sensor in the fuel tank that needs replaced. If the sensor / float - can be replaced or fixed individually , then its fixable and if they make them so that its all in the same unit ( 1 unit has it all ) then you gotta get the fuel pump replaced.
Does anyone know which one is the case- can the gauge sensor be replaced individually or do I have to have the whole unit ? Thanks a lot Sam
Buying the entire fuel pump assembly is not something my pocket can afford at this point of time

ohh wow that sucks.
i actually had the same problem like last week and had to
buy another fuel pump : /
not too cheap.

and it sound like your being taking for a long ride really the car wil run with out gauge and its in the dash most offen and really if it starts and runs id leave.. so really do you need a gauge to drive it you shoul dbe able to guess how far you can drive on knowing that you have to fill it up so many times in a week or you shoul dknow how many miles you can go on a tank when full so set your mileage and go if you think your out buy more dont have to have one to stop and buy gas anytime..i know i can go a week on a tank so 300 plus miles just set the mileage you drive it

MECHANICS ALL AGREE, "IF IT AIN"T BROKE---DON"T FIX IT !!!
The parts you pull out of the tank is an 'assembly' and can be disassembled. Only parts that need be replaced, should be replaced.

"BRILLIANT"!!!!

Why would you replace the fuel pump?

Lemme see if I can find a fuel float...brb...

A'ight. Dealer only item, fuel pump and sender all in the one unit. $350.00.

Take two days to get it.

Ride without a sender, just reset your trip meter when you fill up.
