Mazda Miata v.s. Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Im looking to buy a new car. I want one that looks nice and also doesnt cost too much. Both of these are in my budget. I want the one with better quality and good maintenance. I like both but i wanna make sure i make the best choice. Which do you think is the better buy and why?
 
Miata for me. However, if you live in an area where half the year it snows, go for the eclipse. The Miata is rear-wheel drive. Which is horrible in snowy conditions regardless of how "great a driver you are". The fuel economy is fairly the same for both. If purchasing brand new, the eclipse has more standard features and a longer warranty than the miata. If purchasing the car used check the carfax reports and maintenance records to see which car is best bang for your buck. Mazda is better build quality, it feels costlier. Remember: ANY CAR WILL LAST LONG IF MAINTAINED CORRECTLY.
