Mazda '97 626 auto tranny?

Why are you 'really scared'?

If you got the car for such a good price, considering its age and mileage, dont be scared of it!! You might get 10 years out of the transmission in that motor, you might get another 10 minutes. Thats the gamble everyone takes about buying a used car, you win some, you lose some.

Remember this, though - if a person has something good to say, they will tell five people about it. If a person has something bad to say, they will tell ten people. So the odds of hearing something bad about a car is twice as likely.
 
Im really scared about this vehicle..i didn't read the reviews on it before i bought it because the asking price was really good. It had 79K miles on it and i bought it for 2200. Now im reading reviews on it and 5 out of 10 times im reading the same thing. "Auto Tranny goes out really quick", "Go with manual".."dont buy auto tranny"..Anyone own this car?..im a college student and thought this wouldnt be a bad first car..can anyoone throw in there two cents?

I bought one 1999 model. It had 90,000 on it and i ended up doing 165,000 before it was ready for scrap.

During that time all i spent was new Tyre's and no servicing.
