mazda 626 could the engine that was replaced in the car be too big for the original

radiator? we bought a Mazda 626 and it is over heating constantly we've replaced any leaky hoses, new radiator cap. What it does, is the radiator starts to over heat in about 10 min. When inspecting the engine boiling hot water is in the plastic reserve tank and sends steam pouring out, more than a half gallon is lost.We thought it might be the water pump but that seems to be working. What do you think? How can I tell the water pump is working? Also could the radiator be too small for the engine?
 
you should check the alternater, that may be the problem, also make sure the fuel gage is connected to the radial turbine underneath the main motor. The carborator connection tube could be loose causing a spill of the maintanence oil reserve in the primary engine valve. If none of this works, GO TO A REPAIR SHOP
 
You most likely have a cracked head or leaking head gasket. Compression pressure can enter the cooling system and cause it to overheat and boil over into the coolant reservoir without mixing oil and coolant, or vice versa.
