Mazda 3 is making odd noise- like a semi truck braking-very loud! what is it?

it makes the noise when i either stop or slow down then i start to accelerate.. it happens as i accelerate.. it's a loud sound.. kind of like when you hear a semi braking or when you swing a toy over your head..

brakes were changed not too long ago and the car handles well.. no prob with anything mechanical as far as i can tell...
please note: the sound occurs while i start to accelerate.. because of this, i dont think it's a brake issue (that and i just had the brakes changed and the tires and the brakes appear fine)
