Maya Fox--Anybody Heard About It?

I just heard about this comic book series a moment ago. It's about a 17-year-old girl who can speak to the dead.:eek::ack: It's created by Iginio Straffi, creator of both Winx Club & Huntik.

It started out as a novel than became a popular magazine series in Italy for quite some time.

Something tells me, it'll be made into a cartoon series in the near future, maybe a year or so. Probably similar to Ruby Gloom and the upcoming Tara Duncan series.

I just wanted to ask if anyone is familiar with this new character and had any opinions on it? Even though it's not animated...yet, it IS from the same guy who created Winx & Huntik.

IMO, I think I would pass on Maya Fox because it looks and souns too creepy for me.:eek::ack:
 
Yes I've heard about this show too as well as two other shows Rainbow is working on (PopPixie & Yoko Mo and Me). Your comment on the show possibly being a bit too much for you makes me realize that this show may not make it over to North America as easily as previous shows from that company were (Maya is being chased by a serial killer in the very beginning, talking to the dead) and may be put in a weird timeslot as well. On the one hand I'm very interested to see what it will be like but on the other hand I'm not sure how well the slightly mature themes will be handled. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. ;)
