Presuming that others want to be preached to by any given person, especially
anonymously, is obnoxious, no matter which faith is being abused by such
behavior. I had an experience in the grocery store Saturday where a few
college age youngsters were, for whatever reason, hanging out in the store
looking to pray over people. They faked me out by striking up a conversation
asking if I knew something about some meat, and next thing I knew they
wanted to know what I believed and if I wanted to pray, and when I tried to
say no and walk off, they started getting pushy and one tried to put an arm
on my shoulder. They weren't taking no for an answer. At that point I pushed
the kid's hand off of me and told them very sternly that praying in a
grocery store was aganst my religion and walked off. Glancing back, the deer
in the headlights look was priceless.
But I did pray in a way when I went to have a come to Jesus meeting with the
store manager.
