And why is it that you believe that? Are you one who takes sunni Hadith as cannon despite what more secular historical sources tell us?

it's so nice to see the entire forum come together to hate on the same thing for once

well Syed's writings were in 1951, his trips through the US were in the later 40's and based on even earlier teachings as well.

So while there was some US influence after the 2nd world war, the anti west attitudes date even further back.

You and I both know the real reason for it. Western society is evil to the Islamic fundamentalists.

Boo fucking Hoo

I have enough self-respect not to trust the contents of my heart and mind to the pedophile self-proclaimed prophet that's managed to keep most of the middle east stuck in the bronze age.

They use to prior to the modern zionist movement. Jews and Christians made up significant portions of the population under the early Islamic dynasties (in some areas having a larger population than Muslims). When Christians were persecuting Jews under the Justinian laws in the Byzantine Empire it was to Islamic lands that they fled. Same with Nestorian Christians.

I can use a page-size fresnel lens. Of course, I'm a Christian. Maybe it doesn't work for Muslims?

you have to look at it differently. Prior to 1979, the US wasnt so involved in keeping dictators in power in Muslim countries.

The people despise america for keeping dictators in power at the expense of the local populations. If the US didnt meddle in domestic affairs there wouldnt be a reason for extremism.

The Hostage crisis is a case-in-point. If the US didnt back the Shah, the people wouldnt have revolted against him.

Sure, the nutjobs were in charge of the revolution, but if you didnt give them a reason to rally against an external element (US involvement) things wouldnt have gotten so bad.
