Hi everyone, I currently have 2 tv's (receiver 9200 and a 3100) connected to my E-VU dish. Now, I'm planning on moving the second tv to my guest house which is about 150 feet away. Is it gonna be a problem running a cable that far from the dish? The dish is now on the roof of the main house. Anyone got any other ideas to make this work please? I need my tv in the guest house.

Thanks again.

100' is the limit specified for legacy equipment. However, this is not a hard limit since it also depends on signal strength and quality of cable. I would use a high quality RG6 with the current equipment and see how it works. DP and DPP equipment specify a limit of 200' so that would be an option if it doesn't work with the existing hardware.

a DPP44 with a power inserter will work upto 200 feet and my 3100,6000,6120 works great.

I picked up a new dpp44 with an power inserter on ebay for $100 shipped a few months ago.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I don't want to add a second dish to the guest house, I want it to run from the main dish. Excuse my newbness but what's a dpp?

I'll try to run a length of high quality RG6 and see what happens. Question, what mhz rating should I get for the RG6? Is 2200 Mhz good or is 3000 mhz better for what I wanna do?

Just to add, I just did a google image search for dpp44 and I got one of those behind my tv. It's powered by an ac adapter and if it gets unplugged, I lose my sat signal. Is that it? If it is, am I good to go and try my 150' run of high quality RG6?

You could consider RG-11, but it's a lot heavier and more expensive. You'd lose about 2dB less.

You probably have an SW-44 switch.

For high quality RG-6 I recommend Belden 1694A.

Don't waste money on RG11. I run 2 lines 421 feet from the Dish to my house. Yes it looses some signal but I still have 90% when I do a Check Switch.

I used Times Fiber 3Ghz RG6.
