Matrix Revolutions: Spoilers ALLOWED

Saw the film on Wednesday (day of release) and thought it was the biggest disappointment going. After the enigma of the first film and the style of the second, we get this. And I had to suffer a twerp in a black suit and shades in the cinema. Aaargh! God help me when I see Star Wars Episode III: Screen Wipes a Go Go (or whatever it is going to be called) there is bound to be some witless idiot dressed as Darth Vader eating popcorn and licking his ice lolly.

I digress, though. Revolutions was, by comparison, tat and on a par with S Club Seeing Double and Maid in Manhattan in the 'Why did I bother?' stakes

Well i guess (looking on here) that this movie will satisfy the core matrix fans.........But as for us rest it just doesnt do anything..........ANYTHING!

Its shit and meaningless

Thank god its over..............NO MORE PLEASE WARNER BROS:eek:

Do you think that in fact there were few humans left alive by that point to be released (part of the discussion between Oracle and the Architect is about the humans gradually being released that are left), Smith had been taking over the humans as well as rogue programs and it seemed that after Neo destroyed him (and dies himselft in the process) that the only "Smiths" surviving were the ones who were rogue programs i.e. Oracle and Sati - we didn't see human programs lying on the floor as Oracle and Sati were so presumably they died.

The one question that still bothers me is this, I have no problem in humans, machines and matrix still existing as I think the end shows a pact between the machines and Neo in that if Neo can destroy the Smiths then the machines allow the humans in Zion to survive and we see the Matrix rebooting as a result of Smith being deleted however, how are the machines and the matrix to continue to survive if there are few humans left plugged in and are now to be gradually unplugged and the other surviving humans are in Zion?

Just a thought!

Not too sure what your point really is.

For starters - being in The Matrix isn't a choice - it's a form of slave labour.

And I think it's about as good as analogy as any. The humans seemed to think that the war being 'over' was a good thing.

But at the end of the day - the vast, vast majority of humankind remained enslaved - whilst the machines could come in and kill everyone if they wanted to.

In terms of results - even LeeRAB United do better than that these days.

Not sure, either all or most - it seemed to me that there were only Smiths left by the time we reached the fight between Neo and Smith - so either Smith assimilated all the human code (I mean the code representation of humans in the Matrix) or there were humans left elsewhere that we didn't see - either way there would have been either no humans (whereas the Oracle and Architects later discussion wouldn't make sense) or there were few humans left plugged in that hadn't been assimilated that we didn't see and it was these that the Oracle and Architect were refering to as being gradually freed (I have to go and see this film again). Hope this makes sense.

Matrix Revolutions certainly leaves a lot of questions in my mind!

I didn't really get the ending - I couldn't really figure out why Agent Smith(s) actually exploded like that. And where are all the people in the Matrix? I think some of the earlier posts in this thread give a reasonable explanation.

But if Neo's death is all that was required to reboot the Matrix and hence get rid of Smith, why didn't the machines just kill Neo when he showed up in the city instead of jacking him back in to the Matrix? Did they actually need Smith to 'assimilate' him?

And if the humans had such a powerful weapon on their ships (the EMV was it called?), why didn't they keep one in the dock as well? Seems like a bit of an oversight to have a weapon so powerful that it can destroy all enemies with a single button press but then not actually keep it in Zion to defend yourself?

Definately need to see it again to think about the ending...

The Oracle said, Smith is the exact opposite of Neo, the equasion trying to balance itsself out. As soon as he took over Neo he destroyed himself.

The Oracle knew this, as that was her purpose, but its obvous that the other machines dont understand these things on this level.

The EMP pulse knocked out most of Zions systems, although I agree, I thought they'd have some anyway if the worst comes.

Oh my God. It is so simple. The machine need for the humans as a source of energy created the Matrix. The Architect built it and the Oracle was made to run diagnostics and run logic patterns over the choices to be made and when a choice is made to see what effect the choice makes to the Matrix. Only certain humans reject the program and break out. It is the Architect's job to find out why the amomoly happens. So he creates the program the ONE and surplants the program into a human body as Smith enters the humans body( which is why Neo can see the code in the real world - HE IS A PROGRAM/MACHINE NOT A HUMAN. He is seeing the world as a machine would. ). The Architect uses the Oracle to spread the propechies and allows further humans to be set free so they can interact in and outside the Matrix. The One then interacts with the humans and finRAB out why they reject the program then returns to the source. The Architect destroys the humans in Zion, reboots the system with upgrades to make the Matrix more believeable to all humans and the cycle happens again. Only in Neo's case he chooses love over duty and saves Morpheous - prompted by the Oracle who has decided to end the cycle this time, either through purpose or choice - in saving Morpheous he inadvertately changes the code of Smith who becomes a virus. In the second film he once again chooses love over the design and refuses to go into the source. In the third film the Architect is following the same loop in the program and sets off to destroy Zion. But once again prompted by the Oracle, Neo sets off to make peace with the machines using the bargaining tool of helping to destroy the virus Smith. In the fight Neo realises that in order to destroy Smith the main computer has to be connected to it. So he allows Smith to assimilate his body which results in all the Smith's being dragged into the Source and deleted from existance. The last scene is the newest version of the Matrix. The Architect ackinowledges the role the Oracle played in the different outcome of the cycle this time.

Oh yes i know that. What i mean is i know the basis of the film but the script tenRAB to go a bit 'har-wire' and puts fancy little worRAB and twist that makes the rather simple plot a little bit more complicated.

Basically too many mind bogoling trash mixed in with a simple story.

Thats what gets my knickers in a twist.

I hope that made it quite clear at least:confused:
