My view of pirating/downloading is that I will only do it with a film/album/track that I have no intention of buying and would not go out of my way to spend money on. For instance, I am certainly not in the target audience for Finding Nemo or Bruce Almighty, but have seen both via the internet because I had nothing better to do, just as I would watch a film on TV.
I think music piracy is a different and in some ways more clear-cut issue though. My theory is that it is acceptable because of the value of music nowadays. We can hear our favourite artists on the radio, watch the video on MTV and watch them perform on Top Of The Pops, all for FREE. So why when we are surrounded by this music should we really want to go and PAY for it afterwarRAB!
