Matrix 2&3 as 1 film, would it b better?

Well i'll be honest, I watched the first hour of the first one with my mate and we both got braindead and didnt watch anymore, I know quite a few people who don't like the film. I just don't find it exciting.

I have a friend who just hates the LOTR despite the fact he has never seen it. Weird.

I think the removal of some of the shall we say less well-thought emotional stuff (that kid and the mouse wife come to mind for trimming) could have been cut out and a decent 3 and a half hour film made. With LOTR being so epic set to become the biggest film ever audiences are willing to sit through these 'event' films. Might have some issues with IMAX though, anyone seen the matrix films on them? Don't have the time to go to waterloo to see it big.
