Matrix 2&3 as 1 film, would it b better?

I was thinking about this question for a long time ever since a film critic suggested this, and i thought long and hard about it and then thought........If film 2 and 3 were made as one with all the crap cut out.......it might of been a sequal worthy of the first!

I dont know if anyone here thought about this as well. Yes yes i know each film is around 2-3 hours or something, but as everyone has pointed out there is alot of stuff, especially in the second film that could of been cut out e.g. such as the rather un-important and hardly seen characters like the Chris Rock character etc......I mean he is in the film for about 2 scenes and thats it? Why?

And if they cut out some of the cybo-cack conversations, but not all of it then maybe the pacing would be even better? Might upset the sci-fi freeks but hey:rolleyes: .

Because if you think about it, if reloaded was trimmed down a little with the crap taken out, you would have a perfect first part of of one film that has a great build up to the war on the robots in revolutions!

Okay maybe my idea does sound a little scary, but hey if warner borthers do decided to release a Matrix set dvd box, they could mould reloaded and rev together?

Okay maybe i am piss mad:o

Hello Lala, you sexy girl!

I think the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions are actually 2 parts of one film, as from what I gather, the Walshaloski brothers did consider making it as one sequel, but (money) made them split it.

I think a DVD putting both together, as a kind of "Reverse-Director's cut(?!)" would be a great idea!

Oh my pxd867 lol, you minxy little hunk...........Oh lord what am i saying  , just kidding;) .

Okay some are going to call me two-faced now but hey here i go. Ok i admit the Matrix sequals werent THAT bad of a movie, infact they werent bad at all they were just, to me at least, disapointing. Infact actually i was expecting so much more from the sequals........and i know that sounRAB mad but i was. Goodness knows what i was expecting, probably to get to know more of the other characters rather then Neo. But anyways no they werent as bad as the critics and some people (including me! :o ) have put it across.........and i put my hanRAB up high and say i was very harsh towarRAB these films.

I guess the reason why i was so harsh was because i was so disapointed by them that i felt angry towarRAB them and quite upset, i mean we were all waiting for these films for about 4 years! However now that i have got over my disapointment, i can now look at these films as FILMS rather then an event. And from looking at them now.......No they arent that bad but they are not great either.

I guess they are just a very good fun sci-fi romb. Thats all

In a way now i can easly see the Matrix trilogy stealing the sci-fi crown from Star wars now! Because i think in 50 years time the Matrix trilogy will be seen as the greatest cult sci-fi movies of the 21st century! ........Though i wouldnt see it in that wya but hey......others enjoyed it so what the heck:rolleyes:

Matrix 2 + 3 should be two separate films as, if put together it would create a HUGE 6 hour marathon, which would not be allowed, so it would have to be cut down. This would cause the storyline to be hard to follow the special effects would decrease in number, and that is the main reason that some people watch them for.

Can I opt for piss mad? :D:p
And a 2 face , hehe. Only Joking!

You aren't either of them! You have a good point in your 2nd post , I think people had waited for so long they expected something that could never be done , bot now all the hype has dissapeared people (and critics) are seeing that the films themselves are quite good (can never match up to the 1st one though).

Like you say at the end of your 2nd post thought it will be intresting to see if they will stand the test of time , after tonight only 49 more new years eves. :D

Yes the films would work better as one with a lot of the trash taken out. Perhaps an extended run time (say 3 hours 10/20 minutes) would have created a sequel that was quite good.

However, they still wouldn't be much cop even with them both combined - the story was wound too tightly in technobabble of the poorest level for it to equal the pace, action and ideas of the first.

It's like a good joke - The joy is in getting it for yourself; you lose the impact if you have to explain it. :(

damndirtyape is there any movie you actually like?

It just "seems" that you are just complaining about every single movie that is out at the moment!

Or are you one of those people who like one of those "house art" or "art house" movies ......or whatever the artyfarty (frankly quite rubbish:rolleyes: ) movies are called

*Meow* :D I am not a troll if that's what you mean.

Yes, I am quite vicious when it comes to a lot of the movies that are out there, because a lot of them are pretty darned terrible and yet people continue to ram home the idea that they are ...ahem....'gr8'.

I'm not complaining about every single movie out at the moment (I often do mini-reviews on my website that get good marks). It's just that many are merely average; 2003 examples of 'averageness' being S.W.A.T, Pirates Of The Carribean, Finding Nemo and LOtR3. They were by no means BAD, they just left me ultimately dissatisfied :(

Films in 2003 I liked? I really enjoyed 'Kill Bill:Vol 1', 'Bad Boys 2' was brainfodder fun and was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed the Cusack/Liotta thriller 'Identity'. Other worthy mentions of recent times include 'X-men 2' that I enjoyed despite my general dislike for marvel comic books and 'Spirited Away' that looked great and had a slightly off-key story (which I'm always a fan of).

Ooooh, and as far as 'Art House' goes, you should have heard some of the scathing comments I made about 'Intacto' ;)

I intend to see both 'Master & Commander' and 'Big Fish' early in 2004 - Y'never know! I may just really like those :D

Sorry i didnt mean to be bitchy!

And no i wasnt thinking you was a troll?....why would i think that:confused: .............you know i might of liked LOTR............but im not living in that world lol......trolls honestly:rolleyes: .

First of all....LOTR average? I would like to say "are you on crack", but then again its your opinion and not mine so hey.

But then i looked at the films you liked.......i saw Xmen 2, fantastic i thought that was a good film......Then i saw Kill Bill 1 on that list and i thought.....hey maybe this guy is on to something great here:) . Then i saw Bad Boys 2 on your "like" list and thought, no this guy has lost it and to call LOTR 3 average compared to the bad boys 2 cack was frankly a piss take.

*Meoooooow*

So happy New Year 2004 to you, i wish you all the best and hope you have a better judgement of movies in 2004;) :p :D

I had a friend who really wanted to see BB2. I told him he was mad.

I'm wating for the Matrix Revoultoins to come out on DVD- do you know when it's due for release?

I thought the films were the right size, pace and had a good script but then I am a sci-fi geek who has read many fantasy books which spreaRAB itself over five books and couple of thousand pages of psycho-babble. The fact is that the Matrix wasn't meant to be as mainstream as it was. The more important question would be if Reloaded had come around inside 12 months of the Matrix would it have been better recieved due to lower hype/expectancy level.

Troll as in - "stiring it up for the sake of a full blown argument", but then you knew didn't you - you teasing minx you ;)

Well...I actually said that BB2 was 'brainfodder fun' - it wasn't exactly my favourite film of the year, I just enjoyed its big budget blockbuster fun a lot more than I thought I would - much more-so than "Pirates.." :D

LOTR has never been a great favourite of mine (I only managed about 60 pages of the book some years back, and I was so bored I stopped).
My major problem with the third film was the excreetable editing job - isn't one of the first commandments of film, "Thou shalt not overuse slow motion"? The story was waaaay too drawn out and lost an enormous amount of pace becuase of it.
I wish I could say that I was the only one who noticed it, but you could litterally hear people sigh in their seats as yet another scene appeared 20 minutes after the film should have ended....and none of that 'keeping it true to the story' malarky from anyone or I'll have to open a can of whoopa$$ on you :D

no - but I think that people would have expected less due to the quick turnaround time. I think people would have been far more forgiving of both films if they had.

Well at the end of the day (this is going to sound corny now:rolleyes: ) its your opinion (okay the corny bit is over now). Funnily enough i found the pace of the books to be a bit slow to be quite honest. Especially the first book.........which lets face it those who read it, not alot happens lol. And if the first film followed the first book to the core then you'll know what bad pacing is like! So i much prefer the films adaptation. And so again as everyone has been saying, the book is over i believe around 1000+ pages long........so its hardly an easy job and i think they have pulled it off big time. Well its better then the Harry Potter films so far lol, thats for sure.

How can any one hate LOTR!
To the person who was critical of the film wait for the extended edition , i'm sure things will be much improved!
