im doing the laws of indices in maths, and i dont get what the rule of dividing with indices is.
i know its the indices subtract each other, but what if you have numbers in the equation, do you divide them?
e.g: 9t(little 10) / 12t(little 6)
please help!

9t^10/12t^6 ................ ?

Treat the numbers separately: 9/12 = 3/4

t^10 / t^6 = t^(10 - 6) = t^4

So the answer is (3t^4)/4
