so pretty much there's a rectangular garden. It has 4 sides. It has 3 walls and I grass hedge (this is one of the legnths of the rectangle). The total legnth of the wall (excluding the grass hedge) is 48 metres. The total garden area is 216 square metres. The legnth of the garden is at least twice the widths.
this was in a maths test by the way. This is my answer...
216/x=48-2x
216=x(48-2x)
216=48x-2x^2
0=48x-2x^2-216
0=-2(x^2-24x+108)
0=-2(x-6)(x-18)
x-6=0
x=6
x-18=0
x=18
Do you think I got this question right??
