According to a friend of mine in college, the students doing premed take all of the most difficult science courses as well as advanced calculus and other mathematics programs.
I'm interested in pursuing psychiatry, and am interested in the math courses required for medical programs. Math and physics really aren't my strong suit at all (and I loathe them), but I do really well in most of the other areas of science. I was hoping I'd be able to get by with a majority of biology and chemistry classes and take easy/bogus math classes...
