Massive Car Audio Problems!! (renault clio)?

Hi, yesterday me and a mate replaced the old sub in my girlfriends car with a new active one, as before we bridged the amp that supplies the 6x9's to the amp on the sub, we discoverd that the remote cable had come apart from the head unit so we stuck it back into the head unit with the other blue cable?(was that the ight thing to do?) Now the 6x9's and sub only work when she turns on her headlights?

Please can someone tell me what on earth I have done and how do i rectify it.

Well it sounds like you hooked up the remote wire to the dimmer wire behind the radio. Usually dimmer wires are orange or orange/black or orange/white. The blue wire or whatever color wire your using for a remote wire should be hooked up to the blue wire coming off the back of the radio the remote wire behind the radio may also be blue/white. If the whole radio only turns on when the lights are turned on then you have your red accessory wire from the radio hooked up to a dimmer wire.
