mass transfer of WMA to MP3's

Finally got an iPod the other day from the yard sale, (thanks JCJiffy) All of my files are 164 WMA's. Whats a good freeware to transfer them all automatically into MP3's, preferably keeing the music in seperate album folders with the ID tags? iTunes transfers to ACC only and I heard that sucks worse than WMA.

476 albums, 6241 songs, dont want to do all of that manually.
 
you can set itunes to transfer/import songs as mp3s right? just d/l ipod rip to get the songs on your comp. change the import settings in itunes to mp3. drag files from ipod now on comp into itunes and select "Convert to mp3."

should work, no?
